k well i d rather be in the wild then caught and in a 5 gal hex.
I feel the same way re fish also. But I feel I can give then a better home then the LFS at least, since they are already out of nature. Most of our fish we are able to buy as customers in FW are captive bred tho. Most not all.

Frogger is probably happier in the wild. I love frogs and toads, I have a bunch of them that hang out by my front door because the light there attracts bugs. I would much rather watch them in nature than keep one captive.
One year, my son knowing how much I love frogs, went to a friend's house that had bunches of them hanging around. My kid was around 11 or 12, I think at the time. He came home with a garbage bag full of frogs that we released by my front door! I thought that was so cool. He knows how much I love animals. But one year he came home with a bat! Also had a gecko that lived in my kitchen for years. I had some ivy on top of my kitchen cabinets that trailed around a window and I think he lived in the plant pot. I would see him come out sometimes and crawl around the ceiling. He must have made it close to the floor at times, because over time, I noticed he was missing a piece of his tail and one leg, I think my cat got ahold of him. But the missing pieces did grow back. I miss that little guy. Last year, I had a toad that was "tamed". He would come out of hiding at night whenever I would go out the front door. He enjoyed having his ears and head rubbed. He would tilt his head, like a cat does when you scratch its ears. I have a new one this year, he's not tamed yet, but I'm working on it. I've left blood worms outside for them sometimes but they don't seem to like those!

It's nice that you wanted to give him/her a home, however because most of them are sold as wild caught doesn't make it the best thing to do. In the aspect of fish, there are a lot of species of fish that were originally wild caught to be sold to hobbyists etc and now are endangered in their natural habitat. Not saying the grey tree frog will necessarily become extinct, but it's best to leave it in it's natural habitat.
